About PAS
My Story
My name is Naia Oden, and I'm a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a passion for empowering students, parents, and educators. Raised in Akron, Ohio, I now call the Metro Atlanta area home.
My path to school psychology wasn't entirely preordained. During my senior year at Kent State University, where I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2006, a chance encounter with a "Who Is A School Psychologist?" brochure sparked my interest. Discovering a career that combined my love of psychology with a passion for education and children felt like kismet.
To solidify my decision, I took some time off before enrolling in Kent State's School Psychology program. By 2011, I had obtained both my M.Ed. and Ed.S. degrees. My dedication to my alma mater extended further as I supervised practicum students on their own journeys to becoming school psychologists.
Always seeking new ways to support children, I ventured into the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2016. Providing home-based ABA therapy and witnessing its positive impact ignited another passion – helping children with Autism and their families.
My mission is to ensure students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. This translates into my daily work, encompassing assessments, interpretations, and a strong focus on Response to Intervention (RTI). I actively provide consultative services and training to staff, equipping them with effective interventions and differentiated instruction strategies for students of all abilities.
Reading intervention, applied behavior analysis, and childhood disorders are areas of particular interest within my professional domain. Ultimately, my goal is to empower parents and educators with the information and tools they need to make their kids not just successful, but Psyched About School!
